Walk in beauty

Beauty. Ever since I heard the word used to describe a life lived in balance and respect it’s felt like tending my beauty is a cornerstone of my well being.

The Dineh/Navajo tradition defines beauty as a journey that is “in the natural order.” And says that when we are walking in beauty, “Then we are living the loving way, in right relationship to the elements of the four cardinal directions.” Patricia Anne Davis, MA

To me, understanding my own beauty was one of the keys to surviving despite hellish life experiences. Going on to live my beauty was a gateway to flourishing. To being magic. To practicing my unique alchemy.

So, when “beauty” introduced itself as an ally today,  I took a deep, deep breath and opened my heart. Because if beauty wants to grace my day, I’m making tons of space for her.

May you walk in your own clear, bright, beauty, today.

What beauty said…

Align your heart
with me

Drink in my balance
and symmetry

Be nourished by
my curving strength

You are in beauty
when you love

You are in beauty
when you honor

You are in beauty
when you refuse
to wound

when you choose not
to take
to deplete
to ravage

You are in beauty
when you are
unreservedly
sacred

You are in beauty
when you are
yourself
