Predatory paradox of my back yard

Navy fighter jets
leave contrail scars in the sky
Great blue heron does his languid dance –
seeking scurrying snacks,
A-10 “tank killers” roar overhead –
impossibly close to the ground,
Red tail hawk drifts silently into a tree,
joining her long-legged brother.
Prickly, predatory helicopters whirrrrrr through evening sky
seeking, seeking….
Fox, brazen, smart, hungry,
trots through the waiting stillness
nose low, ears high….
